We are innovative planners and designers specializing in the creation of interpretive exhibitions and environments. We pride ourselves on our award-winning ability to share ideas with thoughtfulness,
humor, and imagination.

SFD has successfully planned, designed, and implemented outstanding interpretive exhibitions and visitor experiences since its founding in 1988. Our focus is the interpretation of history and the natural sciences. Our clients include governmental agencies, private institutions, state and local historical institutions, and corporations.

Together with our clients, we create thought-provoking and engaging environments for the communication of ideas.

We believe a museum is a modern oasis – a place where visitors come to quench their thirst for exploration, engage with new ideas, and share excitement. We see our role as designing meaningful and lasting visitor experiences that inspire an interest in continued learning within an interactive, fun environment. The cornerstone of our design philosophy is that everything starts with a clear, effectively communicated message. Our approach to exhibit design combines our joy in the creative process with collaborative client partnerships that are characterized by a free and respectful exchange of ideas. We take pride in our success creating museum environments that facilitate visitor interactions, deepen their understanding of the message, and leave them eager to learn more.
